Adecco Technical is currently recruiting for a Systems Engineer to join the staff of one of our esteemed clients in South East Maine. This is a direct-hire / permanent position, with excellent pay, exciting projects, plenty of room for advancement, and full benefits. Sorry no H-1B sponsorship is available.
The Systems Engineer should possess broad systems administration, networking, backup and recovery, and Microsoft Server family experience and have delivered services with these components to external customers. The ideal candidate will possess 10+ years experience supporting enterprise customers IT infrastructure with a focus on networking and systems management primarily with Microsoft servers. In addition, the candidate should possess excellent communication and writing skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Lead customer service projects including:
· Administration and maintenance of client networks
· Performing product installation services
· Reproducing customer environments to triage and root cause customer problems and provide resolutions
· Documenting customer issues into a customer tracking database and online knowledge base
· Performing customer upgrades
· Interface with engineering and Quality Assurance as needed
· Participate in pre-sales activities to understand client's challenges and work with the sales team to develop a solution
· Participate in customer services practice development activities, including:
· Developing best practices, templates, methodologies, knowledge management
· Escalation point for road engineers
Requirements:
· VMWare Certified Professional certification
· MCSE 2003 Certification, with in-depth knowledge and experience supporting Microsoft server environments, and networking solutions that include:
· Microsoft Server 2003 Family including ISA, Exchange, SQL, ISS, and Back Office
· Server Hardware troubleshooting
· Experience supporting customers related projects through the full systems lifecycle (assessment through implementation)
· Solid understanding of networking technologies (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN and VLAN)
Switch experience with at least one of the following:
· HP
· Cisco
· Foundry
· Ability to design and setup Firewall solutions
· Regional travel working from a home office
Note: Unix/Linux systems management experience is a major plus!
