Seeking an R&D Engineer for a Direct-Hire, Permanent and Benefited opportunity in Boulder, CO.
The R&D Engineer will be expected to conceive, develop, and initiate research projects, experiments, or investigations related to energy and tissue interaction; disseminate findings and commercial implications of research through scientific publication, conferences, and internal reports. They will also be expected to participate as a high-level contributor, function as a member of cross-functional teams, and may supervise a small number of technicians
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Performs engineering measurements and analysis.
-Designs, performs and analyzes research experimentation.
-Records work in laboratory notebook.
-Contributes to engineering schedules and plans.
-Works with surgeons and health professionals to understand customer base.
-Instructs engineers and technical support staff on engineering test and build requirements.
-Prepares cost and time estimates for engineering schedules.
-Helps maintain realistic and accurate deadlines and schedules.
-Supervises and prepares laboratory technician tasks and projects as required.
-Provides written reports and engineering documentation as necessary.
-Provides cost and activity accounting period reports as necessary.
-Executes tactical implementation of strategic plans.
-Assures compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and policies.
-Participates in team decision making.
-Develops team problem solving and communication skills.
-Demonstrates skill in the use and care of all tools and equipment.
-Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and all other applicable standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Bachelors degree in Biomedical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field. Masters degree is preferred.
-At least 4 years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years experience of the medical device industry.
-Research experience of energy and tissue interactions is essential.
-Experience planning, conducting and evaluating experiments using good statistical methods.
-Strong written and oral communication skills.
-Experience with LabVIEW, ProE and Minitab or JMP software.
